Stlouis Spanish Academy Mission

St Louis Spanish Academy

St. Louis, Missouri, is a city full of diversity. It is known as the “gateway” to the West, and attracts many tourists each year. It is also an ethnically diverse city, including its Hispanic and Latino residents. According to the 2006 American Community Survey, there are 347,181 residents in St. Louis. About 7,982 of those people are of Hispanic or Latino origin while 3,247 St. Louis residents speak Spanish in the home.

The Hispanic and Latino influence can be found in a number of ways all over St. Louis, and many Hispanic events and activities are focused on children, encouraging them to learn about a different culture. One example of this is the Cinco de Mayo festival which is a three-day celebration in downtown St. Louis. There is live music, authentic food, but also arts and crafts and other kid-friendly activities.
